Khadija Shaw continues to add more historic accolades to her name as she won the FA Women’s Super League Player of the Month award for October 2022.
Shaw, more popularly known as ‘Bunny,’ snagged the honor on Thursday, her first in the English top flight since arriving at Manchester City in the summer of 2021. She scored five times in the league and notched an assist as City won all their league matches during October against Liverpool, Tottenham and Leicester City.

The Reggae Girlz ace now leads the FA WSL golden boot race with seven goals from six games. Her strikes helped City bounce back from two losses to start the league in September, plus a second straight UEFA Women’s Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid. Thanks to a four-game winning streak in the FA WSL, City currently stand fourth in the table.
Khadija Shaw twice won Division 1 Féminine Player of the Month honors during the 2020-21 season with Bordeaux. She finished that season as the league’s top scorer, bagging 22 goals in 20 matches before moving to Manchester on a free transfer. She has 25 goals in all competitions so far in her Man City career.
Jamaica’s all-time leading goalscorer in international competition is with the Reggae Girlz ahead of a pair of friendlies in the island vs. Paraguay. The first friendly is at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Nov. 10 while the second is at the National Stadium on Nov. 13. The friendlies are in preparation for the 2023 Women’s World Cup, where Jamaica will take on Brazil, France and a playoff opponent in Group F. The tournament kicks off on July 20, 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.
