West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle hopes that his basic school will return to its former glory following Hurricane Beryl’s devastation. The Universe Boss leads a charitable new initiative to repair the Josephine Glasspole Basic School in Kingston.

Gayle recently launched a GoFundMe for the Rollington Town-based basic school and the Lucas Cricket Club, places he attended growing up. Gayle seeks assistance for significant repairs following Hurricane Beryl this past summer, with the fundraiser aiming to raise USD$60,000.

The damages include:

  • Roof repairs
  • Classroom restoration
  • Playing area refurbishment
  • New furniture for classrooms and the teacher’s room
  • Bathroom renovations
  • Other essential basic schooling items

So far, over USD$13,000 has been raised for the initiative. You can contribute to the GoFundMe and help the initiative started by Chris Gayle by clicking this link.
