Following an extensive legal process, dancehall artiste Squash learns his fate following gun charges in the United States. The entertainer is set to serve two years and three months in prison in Miami following a plea deal.
Real name Andrae Whittaker, Squash received the sentence after pleading guilty in a Miami federal court to gun possession while living in the U.S. illegally. He will immediately begin his bid in prison following the conviction and faces significant immigration consequences after completing his jail stint.
Squash Was Charged Following a Traffic Stop Last Year
Law enforcement officials slapped Squash with gun charges following a police stop last year. Police stated the gun was accompanied by a switch, with the weapon typically referred to as a “chip glock.”
Things could have been much worse for the Montego Bay native, who is also dubbed the “6ixx Boss.” He faced accusations of being the leader of an organized crime gang while in Florida, allegations his legal team firmly denied. Additionally, he was transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) when questions over the legality of his stay in America emerged. Squash migrated to the U.S. several years ago, but did so without proper documentation.
Squash is best known for singles such as “Shub Out” and “Big Breeze.”
