Lisa Hyper is humbling herself before the Lord as she’s become the latest dancehall artiste to become born again.
The veteran dancehall artiste, whose real name is Felicia Gooden, recently got baptized. A video of the baptism surfaced online last weekend and Lisa insists it’s legitimate. She told the Jamaica Observer, “God never just called me to call me. He saved me. Is not just that mi baptise and give mi life to God, no. I needed to be saved, I literally needed to be saved.”
She also said in the interview that despite her new-found faith, she will honour upcoming dancehall shows. She has upcoming shows across the Caribbean in November as well as a month-long tour of England. Additionally, the artiste expressed she’ll have to change her appearance and wardrobe choices to reflect her newborn self.
Lisa Hyper is most prominently known as the protégé of incarcerated dancehall legend, Vybz Kartel. She was a part of the Portmore Empire for a few years and is known for recent songs like Sculpture and Bed Rock.
This news comes after Shaneil Muir pledged to make her own spiritual journey following recent happenings, including a dispute with her former manager and collapse in Montego Bay.
