Dancehall megastar Mavado is finally back home after several years away, having recently seen his long-standing arrest warrant revoked. Now, the Gully Gaad is giving back to his legions of local fans with a highly anticipated return concert this holiday season.

Mavado has announced he will headline Reggae Fest at Plantation Cove in St. Ann on Dec. 27. He is the latest major act to headline Reggae Fest, which has seen the likes of Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer and Beenie Man headline in the United States. The concert was set up by CJ Milan, Reggae Fest’s lead organizer, who has been integral to making each of these shows happen.

It’s a return to the Jamaican stage for the esteemed artiste, who has been living in Florida for nearly 15 years and last touched home soil in 2018. His homecoming came after an arrest warrant for a 2018 incident in which he was accused of assault causing bodily harm was dropped by local authorities.
