Born Peter Anthony Morgan, Peetah has been the main voice behind Morgan Heritage since the group formed in 1994. The original group consisted of five children of reggae legend, Denroy Morgan, including Peetah, Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Memmalatel “Mr. Mojo” Morgan, Una Morgan and Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan.
Morgan Heritage first garnered major acclaim thanks to their 1999 album, Don’t Haffi Dread, which features hits such as the titular single and “Reggae Bring Back Love.” The group is also known for hits such as “Down By the River,” “How Come” and “She’s Still Loving Me.”
In 2015, Morgan Heritage earned its biggest honor, winning the Best Reggae Album Grammy for Strictly Roots. They received another Reggae Grammy nomination in 2018 for their LP, Avrakedabra. However, they lost out on that occasion to Damian Marley for his Stony Hill album.
