The Reggae Boyz shook off their bitter semi-final defeat at the 2023/24 CONCACAF Nations League, defeating Panama 1-0 to secure third place on Sunday.
Full-back, Dexter Lembikisa, netted a wonderful curler in the 41st minute to secure the bronze medal 🥉 at the Nations League. The Hearts of Midlothian star, on loan from the English Premier League’s Wolverhampton Wanderers, ensured Jamaica nabbed their first medal at a regional tournament since the 2017 Gold Cup.

Jamaica salvaged a podium place after a difficult loss to the eventual champions, the USA, giving up a 95th-minute own goal to equalize before Haji Wright’s brace in extra time ensured an American victory. However, the Boyz battled bravely as much of the team’s forward line missed the semi due to suspension or injury, including Leon Bailey, Michail Antonio, Demarai Gray and Shamar Nicholson. Gray and Nicholson returned for the third-place match.
Next up for the Reggae Boyz will be the beginning of CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers. The Boyz host the Dominican Republic to kick off their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign on Jun. 6 before visiting Dominica on Jun. 9. They subsequently open their Copa America campaign on Jun. 22 against CONCACAF rivals, Mexico.
