Vybz Kartel and Lila Ike headline 2026 Reggae Grammy nominees

The nominees for the 68th Grammy Awards are in, with this year’s Reggae Grammy category headline by dancehall legend Vybz Kartel and first-time nominee Lila Iké.

For the second year running, Kartel is among the Best Reggae Album Grammy contenders, getting nominated for his LP, “Heart & Soul.” Released in August, “Heart & Soul” features singles such as “They Outta Love We Aren’t,” “You Walked Away,” and “11:45.” The revered deejay lost out on the Grammy last year to the Bob Marley: One Love movie soundtrack, hoping to get his hands on the prestigious honour for the first time.

Meanwhile, Lila Iké is among those earning a maiden Grammy nod in the Best Reggae Album category. The 31-year-old songstress secured a nomination for her studio album, “Treasure Self Love.” The LP features singles such as her rendition of Patra’s “Romantic Call” and her hit single, “Fry Plantain” alongside Joey BadAss. Lila is a protege of reggae legend, Protoje, who was previously a Grammy nominee.

Other Reggae Grammy Nominees Include…

Other nominees in the Best Reggae Album include Jesse Royal, Mortimer and Keznamdi. Jesse, who previously earned a nomination for his self-titled 2021 album, received a nod for “No Place Like Home.” Mortimer, a first-time nominee, got nominated thanks to his latest LP, “From Within.” Meanwhile, Keznamdi secured a nod for his album, “Blxxd & Fyah.”

The Best Reggae Album winner, as always, is set to be announced in the pre-show of the 68th Grammy Awards. The showpiece event takes place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 1 2026.
