Rojé Stona and Shaneika Ricketts named Sportswoman and Sportswoman of the Year

Roje Stona and Shaneika Ricketts hold their Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards.

Jamaica’s field athletes are once again the talk of the town as two Olympic standouts, Rojé Stona and Shaneika Ricketts, win the RJR Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year.

Stona earned the Sportsman of the Year honor after winning a historic Olympic gold medal for Team Jamaica at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Stona took home the men’s discus title with a record throw, earning Jamaica its first-ever gold medal in a field event.

Meanwhile, Ricketts, who won a pair of IAAF World Championship silver medals in the women’s triple jump in 2019 and 2022, earned her first Olympic medal in Paris. Ricketts earned another silver medal during her strong Olympic showing.
