Scantana shows love to the ladies with ‘Goodie Goodie’

Known most recently for his Black Lives Matter viral video and his appearance in the Netflix hit series Top Boy, Scantana has no intentions of slowing down.

He shows his lyrical prowess in his new single Goodie Goodie as he creatively mentions the likes of Winnie Harlow, Jada Kingdom, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, our very own Lisa Hanna (Miss World 1993), Zozibini Tunzi (Miss Universe 2019), Rihanna and many more.

Goodie Goodie is fun, melodic, catchy and was constructed using mostly female names, 39 to be exact. Popular Jamaican ladies and worldwide celebrities form the subject, verb and predicate to construct the bars in a creative way. “Goodie Goodie was created to make women around the world feel good,” Scantana explains; as the lyrics of the catchy hook highlights women of all shapes, sizes, colour and creed.

Expected to create waves as it has already been premiered on HOT97 with Bobby Konders and Jabba receiving multiple calls in for pull-ups, Goodie Goodie has also been creating a buzz across the continent of Africa having been premiered on several of Africa’s elite stations in various countries such as Kenya, Ghana, Gambia, Uganda and more. It’s the first song off Scantana’s upcoming EP and a joint project with producer, Dale Virgo.

Scantana, born Kibwe Lawrence in the inner city of Kingston, migrated at a tender age from the infamous “Tel Aviv” community to the South Bronx where he spent most of his adolescent years. Growing up in a household where drug usage and dealing went hand in hand, Scantana was predisposed to criminality which he would later fall victim to before being deported to his native island Jamaica.

As a teen, Scantana was saturated by hip-hop influences where he developed a fascination with words; adopting “The Roget’s pocket dictionary” as his best friend. Scantana wrote his first rap song at age twelve and quickly earned the respect of his peers due to his lyrical prowess. His respect and popularity grew throughout his high school years as he scored performances with Hip-Hop/RnB acts in the likes of Foxy Brown, Tyrese Gibson, MA$E, SWV and many others.

He is a rapper, songwriter, screenplay writer, motivational speaker, an extraordinary performing artist and actor. He has an arsenal of music ready and has plans of releasing a double EP.
