Maia Chung helping the homeless and ill with art exhibition

The Maia Chung Autism and Disabilities Foundation (MCADF) in collaboration with Maia Chung Artworks (MCA) are joining forces to raise money for vulnerable Jamaicans who are homeless and those affected by Cancer and Autism.

Come this Sunday December 15, the MCADF, working with its sister company MCA, will be selling art and merchandise from which 50% of the proceeds will be given to the foundation to help those affected with the aforementioned issues.

The MCADF/MCA teams are encouraging Jamaicans to come out to the Christmas Market, where the two teams will be participating, to meet their goal of fundraising for the vulnerable.

Maia Chung, operator of the foundation, indicated that there will be original art and handcrafted pieces from her and several of the artists and merchandise specialists that her company works with, on sale, at extremely affordable prices, come December 15 .

The event is being staged in St. Ann and will take place at the Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in Priory between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is being held under the banner of the Conu’co Christmas Market.

This is the second time the Foundation and the Maia Chung Artworks organisations are collaborating in a venture like this using art for charity.

The first collaboration was done over Heroes Weekend this year, on October 20, and ten percent of the profits raised by the two collaborators was donated to the Jamaica Cancer Society branch in St. Ann.

Ms. Chung will be at the event on Sunday to interact with the patrons and is urging people to come out as well as buy their gifts for their loved ones and friends at the Maia Chung Artworks booth. They can get quality all-Jamaican made art, merchandise and home and office décor items while helping their fellow Jamaicans at the same time.

About one dozen of the artists represented by MCA, including Chung herself will have items for sale this Sunday.

To get a preview of what will be on display on Sunday, patrons who intend to visit the market can see more on the MCA overall offerings on their website www.maiachung.com
