The Reggae Girlz 🇯🇲 will have to do it the hard way if they are to make it to a second consecutive Women’s World Cup.
The Girlz learned their group for the final round of CONCACAF qualifying, the CONCACAF W Championship, in Mexico.
Jamaica’s senior women’s football team were drawn alongside the reigning two-time world champions, the United States. The hosts, Mexico, and Caribbean rivals, Haiti, were also drawn into Group A.
Group B sees defending Olympic champions, Canada, take on Costa Rica, Panama and Trinidad & Tobago.
The top two teams in each group of the eight-team tournament qualify automatically for the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The two third-placed teams then slot into an intercontinental playoff tournament that takes place next February. That tournament is also hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The playoff tournament also includes two teams each from Africa and South America, plus one each from Europe and Oceania.
The CONCACAF W Championship takes place from July 4-18 in Monterrey.
