Tahje Bennett wins Miss Jamaica World on the second try

Tahje Bennett holds her award and flowers after being crowned the new Miss Jamaica World.

After coming close to winning the 2022 Miss Jamaica World pageant, Tahje Bennett finally gets her crowning moment.

Bennett, a 25-year-old soon-to-be law school student and Spanish Town native, succeeds Shanique Singh as the new Miss Jamaica. Jamila McGowan earned the runner-up spot, while Shanelle Kellyman got second runner-up during the coronation ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.

Bennett also won the Beauty With a Purpose fast-track competition for her Fix Your Crown initiative. She insists she will use her reign to advocate for women who have suffered at the hands of domestic and other gender-based violence.

Next up for Bennett is to represent Jamaica at the 72nd Miss World pageant in February 2025
