These are the unexpected moments that will always have us Jamaicans 🇯🇲 coming back for more! Tajay Gayle has provided us with one of those moments as he won gold 🥇 in the men’s long jump at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Saturday.
Gayle set a world-leading distance, jumping at 8.69 m, eclipsing the national long jump record help by Olympic and world championship silver medallist 🥈, James Beckford. It’s also a top-10 all-time jump and the first time a Jamaican has won a long jump world title.
Jamaican record AND longest wind-legal jump in the world for the last ten years…Tajay Gayle’s 8.69m is ridiculous.
