Team Jamaica 🇯🇲 always pulls off an unexpected moment or two at the Olympics. Hansle Parchment did just that in the men’s 110m hurdles final. Parchment, who won bronze 🥉 at London 2012, took home gold🥇this time round in 13.04 seconds.
Also, as a bonus, Ronald Levy (13.10 secs) ran the race of his life to capture bronze 🥉 in the final. What a race!
Parchment’s gold medal comes after teammate, Omar McLeod, did the same thing at Rio 2016. McLeod missed Tokyo 2020 after faltering in the men’s 110 m hurdles at the Olympic trials.
We’re up to 7 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze) now in the Tokyo 2020 medal count.
