The Reggae Boyz play their first match of the 2024 Copa America against El Tri on Jun. 22 at NRG Stadium in Houston. The second game against Ecuador, originally set to host the tournament before pulling out due to security concerns, is set for Jun. 26 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, California. Then, Jamaica will take on Venezuela in the Group B finale on Jun. 30.
The upcoming Copa will be Jamaica’s third appearance in the competition. The Boyz previously participated in the 2015 edition in Chile as a guest. They then played the 2016 Copa America Centenario in the USA after qualifying by reaching the 2015 Gold Cup final. Mexico and Venezuela are familiar opponents for the Boyz in this competition, having faced them both in 2016.
Jamaica has never won a point in six Copa America group games, failing to score a goal in any of them. They qualified for the 2024 Copa America after defeating Canada on away goals thanks to a stunning 3-2 win in Toronto.
