Leon Bailey inks new deal with Aston Villa

Reggae Boyz star, Leon Bailey, will remain a Villan for a while longer as he pens a new contract at Aston Villa.

Bailey agreed on a three-year extension on Feb. 5, with the deal expected to run until June 2027. The new contract secures Bailey a significant pay rise and includes an option for the 2027/28 season. The original deal was set to expire after the 2024/25 season.

This season has been one of Bailey’s best yet. After two injury-riddled campaigns, Bailey has racked up 7 goals and 6 assists in 23 English Premier League games for Villa as the club currently sits in a UEFA Champions League place. Bailey has scored 10 goals and notched 9 assists in all competitions through 33 games.

Bailey was voted Villa’s Player of the Month for December, his first such award for the club. The Jamaican international joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2021.
