Britany Anderson to miss 2023 season with injury

Team Jamaica’s 2022 IAAF World Championship silver medalist, Britany Anderson, will not compete during the 2023 track season due to a knee injury.

Anderson confirmed the injury in an Instagram post, though she didn’t reveal the severity of it. The news is a big blow for the 22-year-old hurdler, who had a breakout 2022 season, winning the above-mentioned silver medal in the women’s 100 m at last summer’s worlds in Oregon.

Anderson is the national record holder in the women’s 100 m and has the ninth-fastest time ever in the event, running 12.31 seconds during her world championship performance.

Her most recent run was a 60m hurdle race in Berlin on Feb. 10.
